Somatic Tapping: Cognitions

This 3-hour workshop empowers mental health therapists to integrate Somatic Tapping for Cognitions into their practice, helping clients release negative cognitions held in the body. Participants will explore the connection between negative cognitions and emotional distress, learn to assess and prioritize these cognitions using the Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS), and practice leading tapping sessions to facilitate emotional relief. Additionally, therapists will gain insight into key tapping concepts, such as “borrowing benefits” and managing rising emotions during tapping. This hands-on, experiential class will equip therapists with actionable tools to enhance their clients’ emotional awareness and healing.

Cognitions are like onions, as we peel back one layer, there are other layers underneath we may or may not have been not aware of.

Somatic tapping cognitions is a great class for behavioral health specialists to help their clients release negative cognitions.

Target Audiences: Psychotherapists, Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Licensed Professional Counselors, Rehabilitation Counselors, School Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Substance Abuse Counselors. It may also benefit Speech Language Pathologists, Dentists, Medical Doctors, Physical Therapists, Psychiatrists, Nurses, and Occupational Therapists.
