In this 3-hour interactive course, mental health therapists will explore the transformative power of Somatic Tapping in addressing body sensations and emotions held in the body. Participants will gain practical tools to identify and release stuck emotions by bridging the gap between somatic awareness and mental health. Through a biosocial theory lens, the course will cover the distinctions between interoception, alexithymia, and emotional detachment while exploring key concepts like the Goldilocks Principle and the connection between somatics, trauma, and suicidal ideation. Therapists will learn to create body maps, engage in practices such as “chasing the pain,” and use Somatic Tapping to guide clients in releasing emotions held in the body.
Emotions are a component of physical pain. Release the emotions and the pain can reduce or go away completely.

Target Audiences: Psychotherapists, Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Licensed Professional Counselors, Rehabilitation Counselors, School Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Substance Abuse Counselors. It may also benefit Speech Language Pathologists, Dentists, Medical Doctors, Physical Therapists, Psychiatrists, Nurses, and Occupational Therapists.
